Best Ways to Get Diamonds

You are playing an SMP, and you are still in leather armor while everyone else is in diamond. They spawn kill you somehow, even though you have Protection IV on all of your armor. You need revenge, so you try to get as many diamonds as possible. Here are some ways to get diamonds:4. Mining

Boring but necessary sometimes. Mine as close to -64 as you can, then find a cave or strip mine. Highly recommend to get a good resource pack to tell the difference between different blocks. This one is pretty good.

3. Chests

You can find diamonds in the wild. As in, shipwrecks, villages, your friends' bases, end cities, and most commonly, woodland mansions. Each of these locations likely have chests with diamonds, and all you have to do to get them is to steal it from the chest.

2. "Sharing"

You can either ask them to share their diamonds, or if they refuse, just steal it. They won't mind, it probably happens all the time. Much more efficient than grinding them yourself. 

1. Trading with villagers

Now, you aren't getting diamonds directly, but you can get everything that you can craft with diamonds, except for diamond blocks, jukeboxes, and enchanting tables. And firework stars too, if you want to count them I guess. You can get armor, a sword, axes, pickaxes, a shovel, and most importantly, a diamond hoe.

These come from an armorer (duh) a weaponsmith (duh) and a toolsmith (duh). They each come with their workbench, which are a blast furnace, a grindstone, and a smithing table, respectively. Highly recommend to get all the tools and max enchants on all of them (more on this in a later article).
